Clothing Rack Inspiration

Happy holidays everyone!

It's finally the break and I wanted to do a post on my current clothing rack before I switch them out for Christmas and New Year's. I went with a neutral colour scheme, predominantly black and white (boring, I know). But there's just something so clean and put together about it. It really reminds me of my old job where we had a black, white and grey dress code. Besides that, I mixed a bunch of patterns and textures to make the rack more wintery with thick knits and velvet.  Personally, I use my rolling rack as room decor as well as outfit inspiration.

Jacket - Aritzia
Scarf - Aritzia

Cardigan - Roots

Blazer - Aritzia

Sweater - Zara

The close-ups show five of my favourites out of the bunch. First, there's my military inspired parka, my go-to piece for layering. The drawstring make the silhouette more flattering without being too formfitting, and it's great over hoodies, knits, even chambray tops. I always wear it with my thick wool scarf, my accessory obsession for fall and winter! Next of course is my tribal-inspited wool cardigan, an absolute staple for this time of year and makes a great gift. It's such a unique and eye-catching sweater, but the muted colours make it much more versatile (I practically wore it once a week). Then for those days I'm feeling a lot more formal, I opt for my structured grey blazer. It can be worn for a business casual look as well, since the soft material and cuffed sleeves is more relaxed than most. Lastly, my asymmetric sweater, which has been a key layering piece in my wardrobe. The high-low hem makes it great to layer over collared shirts and button ups (anything with a collar instantly adds a touch of sophistication). The sweater can be nicely paired with high-waisted pants/skirts as well. I love wearing it with black high-wasted leather pants to create a sleek look while incorporating current trends.

Time to go reorganize and pick some new pieces!

Cheers,
J
