Spring Clothing Rack

Vest - Thrifted

Muscle Tee - Brandy Melville

Tank - Brandy Melville
It's finally time to put away the cable knits and coats, making room for a new spring wardrobe. I love the simplicity that accompanies warm weather. Layering can get tiresome after six months in the Canadian winter and frankly, it's time consuming. These are some of my key pieces for this season, mainly composed of high waisted bottoms and lightweight tops.

As the flowers bloom, I decided to take this post to my cherry blossom trees. It just makes me happy. Lace is a must right now, along with sassy crop tops - queue Mean Girls reference. The monochrome colour scheme is a major trend for this season. I guess it makes up for the fact that I'm not a big fan of floral prints.

Shorts - Forever 21
Blouse - Banana Republic

Chambray - H&M

Shorts - Forever 21
Furthermore,  plaid and denim cutoffs give a grungy vibe, which is so effortlessly chic. Of course a chambray button-up is a basic staple. I got mine in the men's section so it's oversized and can be thrown on as a light jacket anytime.

Maxi Skirt - Zara

Dress - Banana Republic
As for skirts, maxis are hands down my favourite of all time. They can be casual boho or styled elegantly depending on your mood. For some reason I've fallen out of love with the mermaid look high-low hemlines tend to give. My go-to semi formal piece right now, has to be my vibrant red dress. The colour makes a huge statement but the cut is rather conservative, it's perfect for wedding season or whatever event that presents itself.

Right now, I'm off to enjoy the rest of my night on my patio with an intense Gossip Girl marathon - xoxo.

Cheers,
J

  5. Lovin' the tank top with cut outs on the bottom! These look like they're interchangeable in some ways or the other, and I'm lovin' that even the most simple pieces put together can have the most effective combination. Great use of outdoor photos and scenery too!
